"The care I received during my cataract operation"

(as the patient),

My first port of call was obviously reception at QMH Dunfermline cataract unit and I must say it was a bit unwelcoming.... seemed very abrupt with not a nice attitude... the staff member was I thought very snippy.... my nurse came out to meet/welcome me and was delightful, so efficient and with a very professional approach, an outstanding team player, very considerate and caring, explaining everything in detail, was lovely in comparison.... the other nurse I saw was excellent also... The doctor explained every detail and was very good.... ..........

My usual doctor was as usual extraordinary, what a fantastic person with tremendous ability I must say.... overall a fabulous team effort, with the exception of the initial reception.

Dear Slightly annoyed,

First of all many thanks for taking the time to comment on your care in the cataract unit. We really appreciate all comments good or bad. It helps us improve the service in any way we can. I'm very sorry that you felt that the person at reception was abrupt and nippy and that made it very unwelcoming for you. I will make sure that I will pass your comments on to the staff at the desk. I am very pleased however that your next interaction with the nursing staff, was reassuring, with their professionalism and team working whilst going through these unprecedented times. I will certainly pass this on to all of the nurses and to the consultant.
