"Wonderful A&E staff"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I'd like to express my thanks to the 2 men who called an ambulance and to the paramedics Kirsteen and Gale who came to my assistance on Saturday afternoon, when I'd a bigger seizure in "The Hidden Garden", ironically within Gartnavel Royal Hospital grounds, Glasgow.

Also thanks to the wonderful A & E staff of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, who work tirelessly in these difficult times. Too often the N.H.S. staff are given abuse.

So I'd like to re-address this & sing my praises for our wonderful N.H.S.

Dear People Power,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback here on Care Opinion. I am sorry to read about your seizure, that must have been terrifying. I do hope that you are feeling better now.

I am however very pleased to read about the service you received. We can arrange for your kind words to be passed to the crew you mentioned and their managers if you would like. We have an online form,

https://www.scottishambulance.com/Content/EmailUs.aspx?Dept=Patient Experience

If you would like for this to happen you complete that form or alternatively you can email the feedback team at Scotamb.feedback@nhs.net and provide them with your care opinion username and the date, time and location the vehicle attended (that allows us to locate the call). Then, we will make sure they hear your song:)

I would like to wish you all the very best and thank you again

Alan

Dear People Power

I would firstly like to thank you for the lovely feedback you sent us in regards to the time you spent within the A & E Department of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Secondly I would like to wish you a speedy recovery after your seizure that must have been a scary experience.

I was touched to read the nice comments you left in relation to the staff and service you received while in hospital. I will be sure to pass these onto the relevant staff within the A & E Department which I'm sure they will be delighted to hear at this difficult time.

Kind regards

Kevin

Update posted by People Power (the patient)

Dear Kevin,

It wasn't actually that scarey.

As I've had epilepsy for over 40 years.

Its just more confusing, due to the blank spells in time lost during the actual seizure.

Being able to fill the blanks & be told what happened after the initial post-ictal confusion clears is often the most helpful thing a paramedic can do to fill the blanks and give closure of the incident to the affected patient. In this case myself. I also received a letter of thanks from the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Its just good to be able to show appreciation where its due. Thankfully I am beginning to recover. If you can notify the A + E staff of my gratitude, who were on that evening [Saturday 8th August] I'd be most grateful.

Yours, 'People Power.'

Dear People Power

Thank you for your response and I can see why this would be a massive relief.

No problem at all. I will make sure the A & E department are aware of your post and pass on your gratitude to the staff working that night.

Thanks again for leaving such glowing feedback.

Kind regards

Kevin
