A year ago I suffered a heart attack. I was obviously rushed to South Tyneside Hospital in South shields which i found a less than happy experience. I was then forwarded to The Royal as South Shields was not able to help me. Although the royal did not have the ability to help me either, I have to say that their care, for the short time I was there was (overnight) was first class. I really felt as though they wanted to get the best care possible. I can't speak highly enough about the staff I came into contact with. I was kept informed at every step and it was explained why I needed to be transferred to James Cook. I Was treated with upmost respect at every level. To come to a close I also want to add that in the meantime I have had a secondary problem which they have dealt with speed and understanding. Well done the teams envolved......
