"Not listened to on referral phonecall"

About: Adult Mental Health Crisis Services / Crisis Team County South

(as other),

I contacted mid notts crisis team in order to make a referral to them regarding somebody that I know. Throughout the call I felt as though the staff member wasn't listening to me and in fact asked me questions that I had already answered on more than one occasion. I was calling in the context of a professional and I came away from the call feeling angry and patronised. I hope that service users can feel more listened to and supported than I did.

Dear LGP

Thank you for feeding back your recent experience with the Mid-Notts Crisis team. One of the most important skills of a Crisis care practitioner is the having ability to listen and empathise with everyone who calls in to the service, so I am sorry to hear that this wasn't your experience.

I will ask the team leader to share your feedback with the team to prompt discussion and aid reflection.

I hope your experience will not deter you from calling again if you feel concerned and I hope the person you was calling in about is alright?

Kind regards

Ruth
