"Hurting my leg and getting a plaster"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I hurt my leg on the bouncy trampoline at Mabie farm park and my dad had to take me to a&e.

I got an xray and my mum got a teliphone call the next day to say that i had to go and get a plaster on it. The nurses and doctor a&e were very nice to me they tried to get me a boot but couldnt find one small enough.

When i went the next day to get my plaster on the nurses were all very nice and spoke to me about my ankle and what would happen. A lovely physiotherapist also came to see me and spoke to my mum about hiring a wheelchair as we were going to Whitby for a few days on holiday.

I went back today and seen Graeme and he cut the cast off for me. i am very happy. Andy was there both times. We like the same football team. Graeme was funny and made jokes.

Thank you all for looking after me so well. I cant wait to go on my bike, hoverboard and play football again.

(aged 8)

Dear jakethesnake,

Thank you so much for telling us about your leg and about the staff who helped you in hospital. I will make sure that everyone, especially Graeme and Andy, read your kind words and I am sure that they will be delighted to hear that they looked after you so well.

I hope that you managed to enjoy your holiday and that you are up and about playing your sports again very soon.

Regards,

Annette
