"Appealing my section"

About: Advocacy Support Cymru

(as a volunteer/advocate),

I was told by staff on the admission ward that I couldn't apply for a tribunal to appeal my section because I didn’t have the capacity to understand the tribunal process. Shelly went through my rights and challenged this with staff on my behalf and now an appeal has gone in. I'd like to thank Shelly for listening as I felt isolated and like no one understood me or took me seriously. Now I feel less anxious because I understand my rights and have a plan of action going forward.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on the support you received from Shelly, I will ensure this is shared with her and the rest of the team.
