I have severe claustrophobia and had to have an open MRI scan have suffered for 5 months and due to lock down could not see my Chiropractor, but why did I get so het up? all went smoothly, Radiologist was so patient and explained all to me.
The bonus was my Daughter was able to come by my side.
Of course under the guidelines.
I would say to anyone like myself who suffers this condition get it done!. PLEASE
All open not in a tunnel, I was looking at my Daughter but could see the wall, the door and even the lovely calming radiologist through her glass window who kept me informed how all was going time wise.
Also had a button to press if needed but no way was I going to use it, this had to be done and for my benefit.
Given ear plugs but the noise did not cause me any bother.
Daughter drove me from West Sussex to Croydon and well worth the trip.
Just waiting for results and then go from there, a week to wait is not long.
I beg anyone reading this go to Croydon for the open scanner if you are claustrophobic you will be well looked after.
Also call the MRI department as I did about results and your questions will be answered.
I have to also mention but can't name names today spoke with a receptionist about my results at the MRI phone line
she knew her job well!!! explained matters to me and WOW! even put me through to my own doctors surgery to speak with a receptionist to book me an appointment to chat with my doctor in the next week.
"so calming experience all staff excellent in the…"
