(as a service user),

After suffering with severe hand eczema for almost three years, because of lockdown a doctor at cos lane medical practice Glenrothes had to telephone a Dr Mitchell, dermatology, Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy for advice after seeing my hands in the surgery.

Dr mitchell prescribed an ointment for 1 week / diprosalic ointment for the following week, and zinc ox/ichthammol nightly with glove occlusion.

I had been prescribed other ointments for years and moisturisers which I constantly said was burning my skin.

My hands are now so much better, the swelling has gone down and the agonising pain has gone.

I cannot thank Dr Mitchell enough.  I can at last use my hands again !!

I am so pleased to hear that the skin on your hands has improved with treatment. More than ever our hands are vulnerable due to the enhanced hygiene measures required as a result of Covid-19. It is important to me that even during lockdown our patients in Fife have gotten access to the specialist advice and treatment that they need.

I am grateful that you have taken the time to leave this postive feedback, which I have shared with Dr Mitchell.

I am very pleased to hear that you are happy with the treatment received from Dr Mitchell in Dermatology and that your hands are much improved.

With increased hand washing, particularly in our present times your hands can be an area particularly vulnerable to break down. I am delighted you are now pain free and you are able to "use your hands again!"...………..keep up the good work.
