"My mental state sunk to a low level"

About: Warwick Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I have had the misfortune to be an inpatient twice in this hospital, first time with a serious kidney stone, (I already had very poor kidneys) and the experience was not good.  Many years later I was taken to Warwick hospital with bad chest pains. After an ECG showed that it was not a heart attack or clot, I was sent to a ward and ignored for a week, I was so bad I had not eaten a single mouthful for over 3 days, and drunk absolutely nothing, and had no sleep whatsoever for 86 hours, none of the staff seemed to notice or care, my mental state sunk to  a staggeringly low level, I was told "to get over it " ... by a doctor. I was to have some additional tests ... never happened.

My wife discharged me. One last terrible thing, patients soiling their beds because the nurses aids seemingly could not be bothered to attend to them.  I am still not well, I believe that Warwick hospital damaged my mental health, which is showing very little improvement. What a shocking place.

We are sorry to hear that you feel your experiences at Warwick hospital have been poor. We would always recommend that any concerns you may have are raised at the time of admission with the ward manager, Matron or the Trust PALS team in order for us to investigate your concerns.
