"Seeking advice during covid 19"

About: Hereford County Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

I have been trying to contact the Hereford rheumatology support helpline for advice on increased pain in my joints. I am already a patient on oral methotrexate awaiting to be stepped up to injection therapy. Unfortunately due to the covid 19 situation being stepped up to the injections would not be safe as it could cause me to drop my blood levels further leaving me extremely vulnerable to any infection.

I have obtained some over the counter remedies and need to check if the product is safe to take along side my other daily medications. I have spent 4 days trying to get through to the helpline, there is only a one hour window each day that you can try and speak to someone for advice. Their recorded message when you do manage to get through gives an email address for Hereford NHS. Frustrating for me, this email address is also failing. I'm getting to the point where I'm just going to give up.

Thank you for your enquiry and apologies it has proved so difficult for you to contact our Rheumatology Service. I understand the email below is the correct address to send queries to. If you do not have any joy with this please do let me know on 01432 372986. Hayley O'Donovan, PALS Officer
