"A&E Dept"

About: Leighton Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I Fainted in the early hours of Sunday morning and Fractured my left wrist. Unfortunately my husband didn’t hear me but my 20 week old puppy dog did and woke my husband who let him through the door. I came round to him licking me. My husband took me to A& E @ Leighton, from the Receptionist who could see my husband was in panic mode over me as I was in so much pain, she was really nice and caring and patient with me. The Triage nurse was efficient and caring. I had an ECG the Nurse was kind and reassuring. Then the Auxiliary took me to X-Ray, she could see I was cold through shock? Not sure but got me a blanket to keep warm, she was really nice telling me about her Dad which was nice as it kept my mind away from the pain. Then the the Dr came to tell me it was a bad break and he was going to Manipulate the wrist, sorry I didn’t get his name he was really nice and caring very calm voice which reassured me, even went outside to my husband who Was sat in the car with Teddy (puppy dog) Which I thought was very thoughtful. Then there was Joseph who gave me the pain relief ready for the manipulation, also Claudia who attended my plaster, so with all the staff who cared and reassured me throughout my attendance you were excellent so thank you very much you are all gifted xx
