About: Medway Maritime Hospital

I've just been to the emergency as I was 5 weeks pregnant, bleeding and all they did was tell me to go back home and rest as the early pregnancy department closes at 9pm (it was 8pm), they said there was nothing they could do at night and weekends. What kind of emergency is that? I came back home to loose my baby because they didn't believe me when I said I was loosing, told me to come back when I'm changing my pad every 30mins... Had the audacity of saying that every pregnancy is different and it could be period, I know my body, I know what I'm feeling, I know how a period cramp feels and it was not it!

I would never recommend Medway Hospital, I was shocked how they just don't care, they had no empathy for anyone in the emergency.

We are really sorry to hear of the loss of your pregnancy, this must be a really difficult time for you.

We have brought your poor experience to the attention of the senior maternity team. However, if you would like to speak to someone please contact our PALS team (patient advice and liaison service) and they will be happy to arrange this. They can be contacted on 01634 825004 or medwayft.pals@nhs.net

very best wishes,

The Patient Experience Team
