"It made a worrying situation much easier"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Paediatric Unit

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter, under 2, had become poorly quite suddenly, as it was out of hours, I called 111.

Within minutes the paramedics were at our door, they were extremely professional and talked us through what they were doing. I was very grateful for such a quick response.

We were taken to Dr Gray's and straight to Ward 2. The staff in the children's ward were so welcoming and calming.

My daughter was very distressed but the nurses and doctor were very calming and took their time with her. Our main nurse Seonaid made an anxious mum and toddler feel that they were in safe hands.

Due to the current Covid climate all staff were in PPE which was quite scary for a poorly toddler. I feel that the professionalism and kindness shown made a worrying situation much easier to handle.

I am extremely grateful for the Children's ward in Dr Gray's being 24/7. Long may it continue!

Dear moraymum

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback following your experience at Ward 2 at Dr Gray's. I hope that your daughter has recovered from her illness and is now home again with you.

A child's sudden illness at any time can be scary as a parent and even more so at the moment with Covid and the precautions that have to be taken to protect patients, their families as well as the staff.
All the staff do a tremendous job in balancing the need for precautions yet being mindful of how this impacts on the child and their family and endeavour to make sure that support is in place and will be so pleased to receive your positive feedback

I will make sure Seonagh and the team receive a copy.

Thank you again for taking the time to leave feedback on care opinion

Thank Kathryn for such a quick response.

Please pass on my message of thanks to Ward 2, especially Seonagh (Now I know how to spell her name correctly!).

Thank you all again.
