About: South Tyrone Hospital / Day Clinical Centre

(as a service user),

I have colitis and therefore need to receive treatment so that it stays under control. I had and appointment for 2pm at the South Tyrone Hospital in Dungannon. I was able to find a parking space ok and I entered the front of the hospital and was then able to follow the signs that led me to the Day Clinical Centre where I receive my treatment. I was greeted when I arrived and was seen shortly after by a nurse who took my temperature and then directed me towards a sink so that I could wash my hands and then put on a face mask. Once I had on the mask I was shown to where I would receive my treatment and I was weighed, blood pressure checked, pulse and temperature taken. After this I had to get on IV in done in a relatively good time without much hassle and was an enjoyable experience overall. The staff/nurses are all very nice and make you feel welcomed at ease for getting your treatment and I can say that everyone should have an enjoyable experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us, it is great to hear positive feedback during these challenging times.

The Day Clinical Centre relocated to South Tyrone Hospital in March, so we could continue to administer medication to people like yourself who are unable to stop their treatment, but are also required to isolate. We are providing as safe an environment as possible, following the COVID19 guidelines, which is why you were asked to wash your hands and wear a new mask on entering following a temperature check. We are also fortunate to have space to ensure social distancing is adhered to whilst you’re receive your treatment.

We appreciate your lovely comments regarding the staff being ‘lovely’ and ‘welcoming’, and will ensure the Day Clinical Centre staff are all aware of your Feedback.
