I have smoked for over 50 years and as a result was diagnosed with COPD 6 years ago. I suffered an fairly severe exacerbation in February 2020 as a result it was imperative I stop smoking. I contacted the Smoking Cessation clinic in Hamilton and they provided support both by meetings and provision of smoking cessation aids.
Almost immediately Covid 19 impacted on the community and healthcare provision. However the Clinic continued to support me via the telephone and also delivered my aids to the door because I was shielding. Their commitment and determination to provide service over this challenging period was very motivational to someone trying to stop smoking after all these years. I would like to convey my sincere thanks to Jean and her team for their support and enthusiasm.
