"Impersonal, short, lack of communication and…"

About: Leeds General Infirmary

I was referred to this dept after an MRI scan in July 2018. I was diagnosed as having a bulging disc in lower back ( I was told nothing could be done for this!!!!!!!) and herniated disc in neck, which I was informed would eventually require surgery at some point. Short tests were performed to check my reflexes and feeling in hands and it was quickly assessed that I would be seen in a further 4 months as a watch and wait patient. That is now 2 years ago, I have daily excruitating pain and have had NO contact from this dept, despite sending emails. Really unsatisfactory service. I received a call from a physio within this department at the start of lockdown (March 2020) who advised me she was working from home and did not leave a contact number. She has never phoned again!!! The only time I have ever needed the NHS and the lack of communication and patient care has been shocking!!! Please make sure that you do not leave this department unless you have an arranged follow appointment.
