"Rude manner of receptionist"

About: Halton Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

Was due blood test this week. before zoldronate infusion.   Halton hosp.   Nurse at bloods said not on system but told me it's ok take short cut to Can treat.

The doors had no sign that I saw, went to receptionist and they stood up shouting, asking where have I come from. loud and nasty told me go back through the door ( that I wasn't supposed come through) go all way to main corridor and walk the circle all way back into where they was at the desk.

Confused I said are you kidding,   I'm stood infront of you. There was no queue. They were very rude shouting they wont do my blood sheet unless I walk all around the corridors.   Because I wear glasses I lifted my mask up to let the condensation go. They shouted again,   keep your mask on, several times.   Right next to them was someone on the computer with a mask round their chin. Not covering their nose & mouth..WOW.

Now I fully understand you have to have guidelines because of this virus.   But to be so nasty and rude. Is not your policy. Really? I was made to feel like a child. Good manners go along way. Needless to say I left and went home.

Good Afternoon,

We are sorry to read about your experience and have looked into this on your behalf. We understand that you have been contacted and an apology offered. We appreciate your feedback and changes have now been made to ensure that this does not happen again, by improving our signage/signposting and also locking the adjoining door to ensure that there is no access via that corridor. We have also provided support and training with regards to face masks and supporting patients on accessing the Blood Room.

Once again, please accept our apology and we are truly sorry about your experience, it is not something we pride ourselves on and have made changes to improve.
