"Maternity Service Paisley"

About: Maternity care (Ward 31) / Labour suite maternity Maternity care (Ward 31) / Maternity care (Ward 31) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Community Maternity Unit Royal Alexandra Hospital / Maternity care (Ward 31)

(as a service user),

My experience of the maternity services in the RAH in paisley and the community midwife team in Paisley has been excellent.

I have seen the same midwife Elizabeth from Community midwife team throughout my pregnancy and once I was home with baby. She was fantastic. I really think seeing the same person made me feel much more relaxed about appointments and it was lovely to see her again once I was home with baby as she had seen me all the way through. A massive thank you to her for her care.

The team at the RAH labour ward were the most amazing team. From triage through to labour ward and upto ward with baby everyone was so reassuring. Considering what's going on in the world the team still made you feel like it was business as normal. My amazing midwife Lorraine supported me every step aswell as Gale and student nurse April. All helped me bring my beautiful girl into the world and took such good care of us. Up in the ward Susan was a friendly face and again so reassuring and helpful to me. I cant thank them all enough for helping me bring my daughter into the world safely.

Hello Gem6736,

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little girl! I hope you're both keeping well.

It is fantastic to hear that Elizabeth looked after you both so well throughout your pregnancy. Clyde Sector, where the Royal Alexandra Hospital is based has been an early adopter of the Continuity of Carer approach, so it is great to know that it made you feel more relaxed having the same midwife throughout.

Thank you also for your lovely comments about Lorraine, Gale, April and Susan. I'm sure they will be so pleased to hear what a positive impact their care had on your experience.

Very best wishes,

Rachel
