"A good experience "

About: Concord Medical Centre

I was shaken and cross with myself as the red hot boiling coffee grounds coated my fingers from the full open filter which, a moment ago, was precariously perching on the mug.

I ran the hand under the cold water for half an hour and noticed that the burn was the size of a 50 pence piece and from my first aid training in the distant past, I remember it meant I should consult my doctor.

I didn’t want to impose on the drs obviously as it might not be serious enough and also, the prospect of having to go into a doctor’s waiting room was daunting during this pandemic lockdown.

Luckily, nowadays the patients get triaged via AskmyGP, I sent In a photo to help.

I was referred by my Dr and practice nurse for next day treatment at Southmead Burns unit, very accommodating, really impressive, thank you very much.

The hospital treatment was professional and thorough, I saw a hard working and friendly nurse and doctor there, they gave me lots of useful information on my condition, it was educational and reassuring as I’d know what I should be vigilant about and what to do in all scenarios.

They also gave me literature to reiterate and contact numbers if need be. There was a letter and dressing for the practice nurse who would dress my wounds and check on the healing progress.

Both GP and hospital have all pandemic safety measures in place, the environment was orderly, prepared, safe and shielded.

Good experience!
