"Incredible Practice, saved my family!"

About: 1/Monton Medical Practice

I spent 10 years, visited numerous practices to be told there was nothing wrong with me, despite severe fatigue/bloating/pain. After one blood test on my first visit they were able to diagnose coeliac disease, which left without a diagnoses/treatment can cause further complications. They were also able to diagnose my 25yr (otherwise healthy & sporty) husband with high blood pressure, something he wouldn't have known about without the routine health check offered. After my diagnoses my mum (at another practice) became really unwell, lost a lot of weight and was unable to manage normal day to day tasks. We were worried that because of her quick & drastic decline she was terminally ill. Her doctors took no notice as nothing showed up on routine tests. My recent diagnoses of coeliac disease meant I recognised some of her 'flare up' symptoms, coupled with the fact I finally had my diagnoses despite being 'brushed off' by other practices. It gave us the courage to fight for a diagnoses for what was clearly some sort of auto immune disease. Unfortunately she lives in another city so could not register with this practice, so we had to pursue the diagnoses through private care and other means. She was eventually diagnosed with AS (Ankylosing spondylitis), an autoimmune disease and is receiving treatment, able to put on weight and function relatively normally.

Without this practice none of this would have been possible. They're one of the few practices where the doctors trust you when you feel something is wrong with your body, fight with you to find out the cause and start treating it. I cannot thank them enough, they've not only changed mine and my husbands lives for the better, and helped us avoid any nasty complications further down the line, but they've also 'saved' my mothers live despite her not being a patient.

I am moving city and will be very sad to leave them!
