"Outstanding care in ward 5"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Care of the Elderly

(as a relative),

My elderly mum was in ward 5 Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline for a while before she died. This ward gave my elderly mum love and care for the weeks before and the day and night of her passing. I have already thanked the ward for the outstanding care they gave to my mum and for the care and compassion they showed me. By allowing me to spend the day and night with my mum while she died the compassion they gave to mum while she died and the support and care they showed me at this heartbreaking time. I want to say this is the way a ward should be run for care of the elderly.

During a very difficult and scary time while we all fight a Global Pandemic COVID-19 the care was nothing but brilliant. one nurse gave her time to sit with me and had kept me informed throughout. I want to thank her personally sometime she went beyond her job to help me. Thanks to wards like this elderly people can be cared for in a environment that makes them feel safe. My mum had dementia and was cared for by NHS Fife at its best.
