Hospitalised in January for treatment of pneumonia via A+E at the Northern General hospital it was discovered that I had an abnormality in my chest which after further examinations at the Northern General site and the Hallamshire hospital was confirmed to be cancerous. Shortly after seeing a Consultant I underwent a course of chemotherapy and reviews and after a planned break from any treatments went on to a course of radiotherapy. I have felt very humbled and extremely grateful that I have received the continuation of the planned treatments throughout the coronavirus pandemic. A big thank you to all who have carried on providing the healthcare services whilst selflessly putting their own wellbeing at high risk. Heroes one and all.
