"Podiatry appointment"

About: Lothian Community Services

(as a relative),

I had to phone Podiatry for my mum as shes been having problems for a few weeks and self care advice wasn’t very effective. As a keyworker myself I know how stretched services are and I only waited a couple of minutes before getting through to a lovely call handler. I think her name was Natasha, she was very good, she asked all the important questions and she reassured me that she would make sure my mum got the best possible help. She told me she would get a podiatrist to call me back. I was so surprised as within 20 minutes of ending the call with her I got called back. They spoke to my mum and were really helpful and supportive on the phone before deciding that they needed to see her in person an appointment was made for the next day which was very quick. I’m very impressed with NHS podiatry especially given that times are very tough with covid-19.
