My wife is in urgent need of a hip replacement. Some general information on the state of play re resumption of normal services would be much appreciated. The courtesy of some general feedback is surely the least you can do for your regular patients and would restore some faith in the excellent reputation of Gobowen Hospital.

I am sorry to hear of the impact that delays in your wife’s care have caused.

Over the last few months, many of our clinical staff have been away from our hospital, providing support for critical care services across the region. Those staff are now returning to us as the Covid situation improves, and that will enable us to increase our activity levels compared with recent weeks.

We are managing our waiting lists in line with clinical priority and all relevant national guidelines, however it will take a long time for us to get back to where we want and need to be, as the impact of the pandemic has been severe.
