I was taken by ambulance to A&E on Sunday 24th May 2020. I was treated first of all by a very pleasant triage nurse who settled me onto a bed and took some details. He looked at my arm which I had hurt when I fell that afternoon. He then sent me to X-ray, where the staff were kind but firm as I had to hold my arm in painful positions for the x-rays.
It transpired that I had dislocated my elbow and after two failed attempts by two doctors to relocate it, another doctor was called and on the third attempt by three doctors, my elbow snapped back into place.
I then was told I could go home and a lovely porter came to take me in a wheelchair to the exit where I met my cab.
I must just mention the nurse who put a cannula in my hand in Resus. She too was lovely and the only professional ever to put a needle in a vein in my hand or anywhere else, for it to come out without leaving a mark, and certainly not the usual huge bruise. Well done!
Thank you so much to all who helped and treated me that day. I am grateful for your professionalism, dedication and skill. Also, your kindness, which you can't learn and you showed it naturally. Kindness and compassion for a suffering fellow human being. What more could be asked for?
