"Telephone consultation and response excellent"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

I was made an appointment to see a Rectal colon specialist and advised it would be over the phone. When the call didn't come I rang up and was advised that the Doctor had rung but hadn't got a reply. Unfortunately the note on the file about which number to use hadn't been highlighted. I was advised to speak to the medical secretary which I did the next morning and she spoke to the consultant explaining and he rang me that afternoon. He was very very nice over the phone and I sensed that he was really listening even though we couldn't see each other. Within 10 days I was seen for an investigation at the hospital and await another investigation in 2 weeks. I was very grateful that medical secretary sorted out the issue over the call and that it didn't delay my care. Well done WHH

Thank you for your email and your kind comments about the consultant and his secretary. We will ensure these are passed on the Surgical and Anaesthetic Care Group so they can be aware of your thanks.
