My mum, 90, was admitted with a broken hip at the beginning of April at the outset of the coronavirus crisis. Despite the huge challenges being faced during her stay, mum was always treated with utmost compassion and dignity which was hugely important to us given that we were not allowed to visit due to Covid. Sadly, several weeks after surgery, having left the hospital, mum unexpectedly deteriorated and was readmitted. I was allowed an ‘end of life’ visit in AMU which meant everything to me and I will never forget the kindness, respect and care shown to mum in her last hours. Thank you to all concerned
"Fantastic care"
