"Mum taken hospital alone"

About: Warrington Hospital / General medicine

(as a service user),

My mum who is 88 recently had to be taken to hospital with a leg wound the paramedics arrived and assessed her leg and the decision was taken she needed to attend hospital due to covid 19 rules she had to travel alone I was upset she left without me

She got to the hospital started at major a/e then combined assessment then was moved to A9.

I must thank this ward for all my mums care and a very special nurse Sharon who went above and beyond in caring for my mum and reassured me a lot.

Mum was discharged 5 days later and this nurse called me for a few days to make sure mum was getting all the necessary treatment and had not slipped through the net of missing care after hospital discharge.

This lady is a truly amazing nurse and I will always be grateful of all the reassurance and care for my mum

Thank you very much Sharon 🌈❤️

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback, we appreciate it, especially in such difficult times as you describe of not being able to attend with your mum. We know how hard this is, but appreciate the families of loved ones adhering to these new rules.

We hope that your mum is recovering well. We will track down Sharon and share your lovely words with her.
