"No privacy, no dignity"

About: Warrington Hospital

I visited the breast screening unit in March on 2 occasions and both times I was asked to remove my upper clothing but was offered no gown or cover and had to try and shield myself with my own hands. On the second visit had to walk into a room with 4 staff waiting there while I was in this situation. It was totally undignified.

Not only this but during the mammogram I was left in this machine for a period of about 3.minutes while a member of staff went off to find the radiographer. This was not only uncomfortable but painful and in my opinion as a health care professional very bad practice. It was apparently acceptable to them.

Following being released from the machine the radiographer spoke to me face to face, again while I sat there topless with nothing to cover myself.

I have since transferred to The Royal in liverpool where it's normal practice receive a gown during all appointments and treatments. Would not recommend this place to anyone for screening, needs a serious look at its privacy & dignity protocols
