"St James's University Hospital A&E"

About: St James's University Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Was referred to A&E by my GP with possible appendicitis - short waiting time, seen quickly by triage nurse and sent up to surgical assessment unit. The doctor there was very polite and respectful, and brought a chaperone as a matter of course for the physical examination. All in all the most pleasant experience I think one can expect of a trip to A&E!

Only thing I would note is I did wait for 10 - 15 minutes in triage with a urine sample, which was not ideal as there was nowhere to put it, and I was worried about dropping it!
