"Cognitive Behavioural Therapy"

About: Ealing IAPT

(as the patient),

I was told about Ealing IAPT through my GP having been diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety and Panic Disorder.

I referred myself and was contacted and assessed quickly by the IAPT team.

I undertook initial CBT sessions in 2019, and I'm currently receiving Level 3 Therapy Sessions.

Reaching out for help with my mental health and working with the IAPT's therapists  has been fantastic for me. I was in a dark place, thought I was going crazy ... Now I'm becoming more self aware, I understand my tendencies better and challenge my negative thoughts. (But there's still a way to go)

The initial therapy was a touchstone to CBT tools. The duration I felt should be longer.

The Level 3 therapy goes deeper, is more challenging but this is what I need.

I have found it easy to establish a good therapeutic relationship with my therapists. They have been professional, warm and understanding. I feel that they really care about my welfare and have belief in equipping with the tools to manage my conditions.

Dear Toomski,

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that stepped care model of service delivery inevitably leads to a situation where, as you described, some interventions may not prove to be the ultimate treatment option. Having said that, we are glad to hear that you are benefiting from Step 3 therapy and feel supported by your therapist.

Best wishes,

Kamila Ilavska,

Clinical lead
