I was diagnosed almost 2 years ago in July 2018. I had never suffered much with illness before. I didn't smoke or drink and walked to work and back so I was quite shocked to find I had stage 4 cancer.
I had great care from a multi disciplinary team and was kept informed about everything that was happening. I was diagnosed at the end of July in three weeks I had started chemotherapy after having a ct scan, MRI scan, blood tests and a biopsy. I had an ultra radical hysterectomy in November and finished my chemotherapy at the end of January. I had regular check ups and scans. Just before Christmas 2019 the cancer came back. In February 2020 I started my second round of chemotherapy. If my oncologist is happy with the results of my ct scan at the end of June I will go onto a maintenance drug. I have been told that I cannot be cured now but everything will be done to manage the cancer.
I trust my oncologist with my care. He is a very busy man but he makes me feel like I'm his only patient.
