"my stroke and subsequent treatment"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Acute Stroke Unit (Ward 6)

(as the patient),

In april I suffered a stroke with aright sided paralysis of leg and arm. I was in ward 7 for over 7 weeks in, that time my treatment from doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists was superb. The time and patience, encouragement, spent on my rehabilitation was exceptional, therefore I am now at home with my family mobile and continuing the good practises which were  taught  me..My family and I cant thank you enough and will always be grateful yours sincerely

Dear hamilton man,

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. It sounds like you have a really positive attitude and are following the advice provided by the therapy staff. This is a life changing event that requires concerted effort and discipline to adapt and adopt different ways of routine daily living. You've obviously had a difficult road to travel over the past few months and it's really good that you have adopted and continue to use good practises.

The staff will be delighted to receive such a warm message from you recognising their professionalism and dedication and that you're continuing to mobilise and progress at home; I'll make sure this is shared with all the team on Ward 7.

Kind regards
