"We could not safely distance"

About: Royal Derby Hospital

(as a service user),

I would like to raise concerns regarding the current procedure for blood tests at Babbington Hospital Belper.

No one checks I have booked in and seems anyone can enter the hospital

Upon entering the Day Unit of the hospital you have to follow the signs to the current clinic, this is a walk down very narrow corridors with a bottle neck at the bottom.

        2. At the bottle neck there were three other patients leaving and we could not safely distance (another person was in front of me). There were five patients in a space of a meter squared. Patients do not have separate entry and exit points

3. I was directed to a general waiting room to wait together and asked to take a seat (I stood by an open window)

4. Two nurses carrying out the procedure were sharing the same room meaning four people are in there at one time no more than a meter apart.

This is completely unacceptable, I have not left my home for 11 weeks and today I have been put in terrible risk. The original blood clinic is a large open waiting area and there are no small corridors to access this, I can’t believe the stupidity of this new system.

Regards
