About: Community Treatment Centre for Brain Injury

(as a service user),

After many years of trying various centres, non of which had any effect on recovery. Time spent with Dr Goudie at the centre was eye opening.  The appointments are done at own place, in place chosen by me and absolutely no pressure when cancelling or rescheduling (this is such a relief as so many take you off list, get given stern warnings, creating avoidance behaviour, particularly with anxiety). The treatment centre realise and understand brain injury effects can make foreseeing how you feel each day as unpredictable.

In all honesty I was a confused mess when first went, chasing what was wrong with me. The appointments guided me to find who I was and find my new-self post brain injury.

It was also beneficial that I could self refer eliminating going to GP and giving reasons for referral. After initial treatment ended, I did approach centre again for some support which was needed.

With certainty I can recommend attending here as nothing but beneficial, with appointments at your own pace and lead by yourself. Refreshing approach to supporting those with brain injury and assisting them in finding their way with many avenues of support. Following brain injury every day is challenging with many inner battles, this centre will arm you with the ability to adapt and excel.

Thank you to all at the centre. Particularity Dr Goudie and Caroline. Although I am doing well and not letting daily struggles stop me, I would not hesitate to return for support.
