This review will be covering two interactions Mar & May 2020 one being a personal visit & one a telephone triage.
The first being a visit where was of the opinion that I may have been suffering with a serious condition. I called the surgery and having explained the situation to a receptionist was called back by a doctor within 5 minutes, within 20 minutes I was having a physical examination. I was given a diagnosis that whilst not as serious as I thought, I was told that my worries were well founded and I left via the pharmacists. Problem solved :-)
The second occasion I was dealt with via a telephone triage call via the doctor, who having listened to my symptoms, arranged for me to visit a local hospital for a ECG and set in motion a number of steps that I had to take. Once I had , had the ECG I provided further details to the surgery I received a call later that day via the same Doctor who chatted to me at length & arranged for me to collect a prescription the following day.
Throughout that long conversation, I was impressed with his obviously caring manner.
I have worked with the NHS in various roles over some 40 years & do not throw around compliments. Considering the pressure that the practice is undergoing during this pandemic I can not but be impressed with the professionalism of all the staff at the practice, from receptionists to doctors.
