I called the other month to update my personal details, including my address. Receptionist appeared friendly and helpful, but turns out they did not do their job and actually update my details, as when I went for my cervical screening appointment it couldn’t go ahead because my records had the wrong address. This was made even more frustrating by the fact I highlighted when booking my appointment that my address had changed and a different receptionist reassured me this would be okay. They were wrong.
Not only is a vital screening service delayed for myself, I have unnecessarily travelled to it during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and taken an appointment of someone else who needed it - all because of an admin error. Their receptionists clearly need more training about the impact of not properly updating patient details.
