I went - mid Covid-19 crisis - with a really bad eye problem which was seen to within 3 hours in total. I clearly need further help with a specialist and was assured that I would receive a letter with an appointment for a.m. Tues 2nd June 2020. Today (thurs before) I still have not received a letter. I rang (and the phone rang out for 15 mins with no answer) the eye casualty number and finally a woman said I was on a waiting list (no indication of how long this would be), that a letter hasn't been sent and although she could see my notes about the 2nd June an appointment for me hadn't been made. I wouldn't have known this if I hadn't persisted and rung. My husband does not get paid when not working and had took the day off work to take me as advised. I also need to book time off work. I was given a waiting lists Dept number to see what they could do but no one ever answers and it keeps getting cut off. My eye problem is debilitating and continues. Why did they say I had an appointment on a specific date and now I have not? We need to make arrangements to attend in advance and I am still in pain. Very upsetting.
"Good emergency care, appalling after service"
