"One bad apple"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Radiology (X-rays and Scans)

(as a service user),

I was a patient in ARI recently and had to go to the radiology department for an ultrasound and CT. Most of the staff in the department were amazing - but I encountered one whose attitude was shocking. I thought this person was in charge until I looked at the badge and realised otherwise. I felt like this staff member treated everyone as though they were incapable of their jobs and attempted to undermine others at every turn despite being wrong on several occasions - including misinterpreting my ultrasound which was corrected by another member of staff.   I feel that this could be potentially dangerous to patients.

Thank you for taking the time to feed this information back to us. I am very sorry to hear that one of out staff members acted in this manner and I am keen to get some more details from you so I can look into this and stop this happening again. As you say one bad apple!! I would be happy for you to email me (Jennifer.fraser2@nhs.net)

I am pleased to hear that the majority of staff were amazing. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks

Jennifer

Dear Buttercup999

I was really saddened to read about your negative experience whilst visiting the radiology department. We take all complaints really seriously and want patients and the public to be treated with respect by all our employees regardless of their role- this behaviour falls well below the standard expected and ethos of NHS Grampian being a caring, listening and improving organisation

As Jennifer has previously offered if you would like to talk to us further and give us more specific details that would be helpful in assisting us to identify the individual concerned

Thank you for taking the time to post this comment on care opinion
