"Neurology Appointment Difficulty"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Neurology

(as the patient),

I am due to attend an annual review with neurology, however I have had a lot of difficulty with getting a suitable date for these appointments.

I work away from home on a fixed rota, and when I am given a new date these often fall on dates I am away from home. When I call to explain, I am usually told that the appointments are now full for several months. I'm aware that the Covid situation has made this even more difficult, and I appreciate that. But my appointment has now been pushed back to next year which means I won't have been seen for nearing 2 years.

The issue I find is that it's not a case of organising a date that works for both parties, it's a case of being given a date and seemingly being penalised for not being able to attend that date due to work commitments.

Dear Glasgow T23,

I was sorry to hear of the difficulties associated with your neurology appointment within Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

I can advise that I have raised the issue with the manager for neurology services and someone will be in touch with you seeking further information from you in an attempt to resolve the position.

Your sincerely,

John Stuart

Chief Nurse

Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
