Got a phone call to ask if I would like to wait for a face to face or if I would like to have a Video appointment earlier last week (my first appt since being on the waiting list). I elected (having understood I may need Face to Face) to have my initial Pain Mgt Clinic Appt via Video.
I received all the information, did the test call & today accessed the Appt with a lovely Female Registrar Dr Nagaraja (apologies I didn't get to write her full name down), It was great having a female. I had a good, focused, no noise, no waiting or travelling (being in pain or knowing you can have a bad day without warning knowing I wouldn't have to travel made things easier), appointment, I was able to listen to the questions, answer them, have time to explain, definitely a more focused appointment, I know not for everyone but I certainly felt more comfortable especially as my husband didn't have to take time off work to take me etc.
The Registrar was brilliant, put me at ease, explained & reflected back. Yes I will need a face to face but the medical history, my concerns & expectations etc have all been done. So my hope will be next appt will be focused more on the next steps.
