I was taken into Southport hospital last week with Corona-19 virus symptoms (I have a long history of mental illness). I was sobbing with fear.
Ambulance arrived within ten minutes and the team were caring and understanding. A& E department was like being in Heaven's waiting room; I immediately felt calm and cared for. Everyone was rushed off their feet as usual, but that didn't prevent the nurses, doctors, admin etc. making me feel special.
I was advised to stay in overnight until results came and was taken to ward 15A, Again, the love and care I received was excellent. I cannot praise them high enough. Being taken in during day I only had day clothes on. I was given a nightie, slippers and full toiletries. All patients are offered a menu with choice of meals. Food was nicely presented and tasted fine.
My results arrived negative. Hooray. I stayed in three nights. God bless cleaners, chefs, kitchen staff, ambulance drivers/staff, care workers, nurses and doctors etc. *Occasionally an alien wearing a white space suit came to check on me. When I looked into their eyes I saw they were angels in disguise*.
"hospital care."
