I phoned my Doctor about a knee injury and because of the current circumstances, Covid-19 I was told to visit the A&E department at the Ayr Hospital. After reception I was called through by the on duty staff nurse(triage) I proceeded to tell them about my injury and was told that I should not be in A&E that I should have been seen by my Doctor. They then proceeded to call my surgery to speak to my Doctor. The nurse seemed to be more concerned with the fact that I had been sent to A&E, rather than my condition! I repeated that I was in pain with my knee and only then said they would see if they could get a Doctor to attend! I returned to the waiting room and their parting comment, was my Doctor was very naughty!!! I then well looked after by one of the Doctors.
"Told that I should not be in A&E"
