About: Barnet Hospital

My 31 year old son was taken to hospital with hallucinations on Friday morning. He was assessed & sent to the CDU but after a few hours, the doctors decided he was ok & he was discharged, even though he was still suffering with hallucinations. They were also fine with him walking 2.6 miles home on his own. When I questioned why they sent him home I was told that they wouldn’t talk to me & actually hung up on me despite knowing my relationship to him. 12 hours later he was back in A&E suffering hallucinations, but was again discharged still suffering with hallucinations. They said that they would arrange a home visit for 24 hours later. 12 hours later & his 3rd visit to A&E still suffering with hallucinations, they finally decided to take action & had him sectioned! His condition worsened with each visit until his Dad had to throw his toys out of the pram for someone to actually talk to him. I appreciate the staff are under pressure dealing with Covid 19 pandemic, but the A& E department was near empty and my son was seriously ill & needed help. What were they thinking!!!
