"Wonderful standard of care"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

After suffering a stroke following a life saving operation I attended the urology department to see if I could have a catheter removed or if it would become a permanent feature. For obvious reason this was a very traumatic appointment coming at a very low period in my life. The team that attended to my appointment went over and beyond wonderful. I was shown such kindness and consideration, and I cannot thank or praise the team highly enough. We are extremely fortunate to have doctors and nurses of this calibre working on the NHS.

Thank you for this further piece of lovely feedback about the care you have received at Eastbourne Hospital; you are very kind, and we do appreciate your words.

Given the exceptionally traumatic experience you had as a result of a stroke, it is completely understandable that at a time when you were already anxious, worried and upset you were concerned about attending a further appointment that could have a life-changing impact for you. It is therefore very reassuring to read that the high standard of care you had already received from the Stroke Team continued during your appointment with the Urology Unit, and that kindness and compassion were evident from staff. We hope the appointment had a positive outcome for you, and that any further urological care or treatment required is in hand.

We will share your lovely words with the relevant staff as they will be delighted to read how much you appreciated their kindness. As before, we wish you all the very best with your recovery from the stroke, we wish you good health Carole for the future, and we hope you take care and stay safe in these sad and difficult times.
