I have just returned to work following a period of absence, concerned with anxiety and low mood. This has been the first long absence in my career and one that took me a long time to accept and adjust to.
During this time I had regular contact with Dr Gurling at Galloway Hills Medical Group, and also had contact with Dr Sutherland, both who were supportive of my difficulties. Dr Gurling particularly, who offered me kind words and reassurance, rather than a dismissive or flippant response. I am truly grateful to his support and non judgement, which enabled me to return to work and some kind of normal. My experience of GP support during this time has been invaluable, and I am grateful for the kindness shown to me by the practice (reception staff) and also primary mental health worker attached to the practice. My experience of joined up primary care has been fantastic. Thank you.
