"Receptionist attitude"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as the patient),

I was trying to get a prescription from my GP sent to balfron where I was staying due to the coronavirus lockdown. the receptionist on the phone had an attitude with me and refused to send a prescription to Balfron pharmacy. In the past 2 weeks this receptionist has spoken to me 3 times, told me doctors would call back as well and they never have. I honestly believe they have not been passing information on.

Previously, this receptionist has tried to diagnose me over the phone instead of putting me throught to the doctors as well. I don't believe this person has much care for me as I suffer great anxiety and depression I struggle to sometimes get words out and they are very impatient with me.

My experience at the surgery full and through is a shambles and has been for last year and when I was suffering depression a Dr at the surgery prescribed me propranolol which is an angina medication instead of an antidepressant, they never listened to me for weeks about symptoms and I had to visit forth valley larbert hospital mental health ward 4 times before I got any progression.

When I was temporarily registered at another health centre they upped my sertraline to 100 mgs then when went back to stenhousemuir they only gave me 50 mg which resulted in a near mental break down due to the difference in medication. Also since I've been on sertraline for 6-7 weeks now they have not phoned at all to check on me when they said they'd call me 2-3 weeks into the treatment due to the potential suicidal side effects the medication has. ive honestly heard of other people being treated in these manners and like myself have to wait average 3-7 days for an appointment to see the doctor.

The mental health nurse doesn't call when they are meant to either and isnt always available, all these problems have increased my anxiety and made me more reluctant to seek medical help as I've lost faith in my local NHS.
