About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

Early 2019 our care was transferred to Aberdeen to be seen by a consultant after abnormalities were found at our 20 week scan at our local hospital. From our very 1st appointment with Dr Littlewood we knew we were going to be well looked after. Although each appointment to follow in the coming weeks only brought us more heartbreaking news, the way in which the news was delivered/explained things to us was and is unforgettable. Her sensitive and compassionate manner made her news slightly easier to digest. 

Sadly we were admitted to Rubislaw to deliver our angel baby. The team we saw over the coming days were just amazing - Dr Shetty, Clara, Megan, Kim & Karen but special mention must go to Chloe & Sarah. They both took the time and care to make memories for us to treasure forever staying beyond their shifts to make sure they had got everything just perfect. Chloe is an amazing midwife who understood my character, genuinely cared and did everything she could in the most difficult of situations. 

Myra is an amazing lady and we will be forever grateful for all of her help and support afterwards.

Dear ducky23,

Thank you for getting in touch at what must be a very difficult time for you and your family and please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your baby.


The staff that work in our service are amazing and regularly go above and beyond to ensure the care they give is appropriate and supportive.

Your feedback will be shared with them and I know they will be really pleased to hear they are doing a great job.
