I am a registered (for life) disabled person following a road accident nearly 50 years ago.
I am unable to walk unaided and rely on either a walking stick/sticks or crutches.
Since my accident I have one leg shorter than the other and balance problems.
I also have bladder problems (unable to pass water readily) and similar problems with my bowel movements.
I had a stroke nearly a week ago since which time I have had little care or attention. I am now bed-ridden and cannot get out of bed to use a toilet or washing facilities and am totally reliant on nursing staff.
My heart and blood pressure are very unstable.
I have been told that I must drink more fluids but am terrified to do so because that would inevitably lead me to requesting toilet facilities from the nursing staff but they either fail to respond or make me feel that I am causing them an inconvenience.
I am very unhappy, vulnerable and want to go home but my husband who is the only person that could look after me has heart failure and would not be able to lift or carry me.
