"Care for my husband suffering from Cellulitis"

About: Midlothian Community Hospital / Hospital @ Home (Midlothian)

(as a relative),

My husband suffered a serious episode of Cellulitis resulting in him being admitted to hospital. After 4 days in hospital he was discharged. Unfortunately the Cellulitis did not improve & his GP decided that the Hospital At Home service would be best able to deal with his on-going treatment.

Absolutely everything about this service was wonderful, from the initial assessment visit to my husband being deemed fit for discharge back to the care of his GP.

The doctor & all the nurses were so caring & thoroughly professional, explaining everything clearly & carefully. They listened to any of our concerns & addressed them, giving lots of advice. They also phoned to check that everything was ok on days when there was no scheduled visit.

All of this gave us a comforting sense of confidence.

Many thanks to all concerned.

Dear Hotem,

Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to send us this story and for your lovely comments! We have a team meeting today and I will be able to pass on your words to the others in the team.

I'm pleased to hear that you had a positive experience - we are very keen to make the service as personal as possible and to treat everyone as an individual.

Please pass on our best wishes to your husband for his continued recovery and thank you again for your thoughtfulness in sending feedback.

Kind regards from us all.

Thank you again!
These are very unusual times at the moment - your kind words have made everyone's day. Lots of smiles at our team meeting yesterday.

I don't think I met your husband myself, but the others in the team who did remember him fondly. Once again, please accept our very best wishes for the future.
